Residential Water SystemsLocation: San Francisco, CA
Client: Private residence
Task: Civil Engineering, Landscape Architecture
Completion: 2017
Collaboration: Hyphae Design Lab
This project was one of San Francisco‘s first permitted residential blue roofs and fully integrated greywater and stormwater management systems. I collaborated with the Hyphae Design Lab, the Civil Engineers on the project, on the design, documentation and permitting process. Rainwater is harvested in the green and blue rooftops throughout the property, to be used for landscaping and indoor non-drinking water reuse, via an 8,600-gallon tank. The system was designed to offset 100 percent of its non-potable water for toilet flushing, laundry, and landscape irrigation.
