I am a landscape designer and place-maker. I design outdoor places and ways for people to connect with each other and with nature. My magic touch is collaborating with communities and creatives to design solutions that make being outside feel more comfortable, beautiful and fun.
I have designed residential gardens and public parks, renovated playgrounds, transformed under-used public spaces, activated alleyways, curated public art installations, and even produced a 10-week long performance art and dance street festival. My process is grounded in research and understanding of context, history, people, plants and environment. Projects are developed through listening, sketching, diagraming, prototyping, iteration, collaboration, learning from mistakes, and building on success.
I believe in the power of collaborative design to solve complex problems, foster community and build harmony between cultural and natural systems. When I'm not designing and making things, I like to be outside with my family and friends: playing with my children and our dog, riding waves, eating, observing and exploring.
